As part of 12 days, this year Spellhold Studios’ forums are getting a software upgrade with a new look and some brand spanking new features!

In furtherance of some suggestions made by a number of modders here at SHS, we’ve deprecated the Infinity Xplorer 2008 forum into the larger IE Modding Tools forum, as well as created a new download category in the download manager for tools. Much like Miscellaneous Mods, any member can upload tools to the category. You can find the forum here, and the download category here.

I’d also like to point out that Miloch has released a tool called the “BAM Batcher”, created to make the process of creating and organising BAMs simpler. It is a very useful tool, so if you’re interested in BAM creation, go check it out!

Finally, I’ve added [Downloads] links to the Misc Mods, IE Modding Tools and Mod Resurrections forum descriptions for ease of downloading.

Thanks to everyone who sent me a PM about the problem; I’ve disabled the bot’s account. The best thing you can do is follow Bluenose’s good advice--just delete any messages from “mignulikz”, and if you clicked the link itself I’d recommend running a virus/spyware scan just to ensure you didn’t pick up any nasties.

I’ll inform our technical guru (SConrad) of the issue ASAP, and with any luck he’ll be able to do something more permanent about deleting the messages.

If anyone ever gets strange messages, please do let me know immediately, and I’ll suspend the account of the spammer. Once again, thank you to everyone who informed me about the problem!

Just a quick notice to say that as of now the Gaming News posts will not show up in View New Posts, as requested by Kulyok and Bookwyrme. We’ll see how this works, and if anybody feels it should be changed back, if you could make a post that’d be great.

The overhaul has been completed, and a little ahead of schedule, at that! A big, big thank you to SConrad and the SHS Staff and for their help!

A number of changes have been made to the structure of the forums, with the Deviant’s Cell being completely reshuffled and moved to the bottom of the forum. We also have a number of new forums, including the new Mass Effect gameplay forum and the RPGWatch Newsfeed. With the addition of the Mass Effect gameplay forum we have also made a new section in our Download Manager for Mass Effect PC mods, which you can check out here!

A number of changes to the Staff have also taken place. We bid a fond farewell to Ilmatar, Azkyroth, Sir Kalthorine, Spike4072 and Karandras. A huge thank you to them for their contributions--and hopefully we’ll see a return from some of them!

Finally I’d like to welcome Amaurea, Cal Jones, Choo Choo, leahnkain, Orthodoxia, Rianess and Scipio to the Staff. I’m sure they’ll all do fantastic jobs, and the rest of the Staff and I look forward to working with them to make SHS a better place!
