IE Modding Digest: Volume XXXVIII
Monday, June 8, 2009

Once there was a perfunctory digest that went a little bit like this:

This little pinkie got translations updates
With Bag Bonus version 1.0.1 (check out some bags at the Adventurer’s Mart) and Mordan’s Xmas version 1.0.2 (a little detour at Mithrest Inn at the Promenade) updates getting German translations, and Ajoc’s Minimod version 1.6.2 (a combination of new content centred near the City Gates) and Deeper Shadows of Amn version 2.2.2 (improves certain battles in Shadows of Amn) updates getting German and Italian translations, it’s all about having a European party! Check them out here. Be sure to get the correct versions, as the topic can be a little confusing.

This little pinkie copied the other little pinky...
But made its own modifications to the Tortured Soul Quest modification, bringing it to version 5 with a Castilian translation and a revised German translation. Get it here.

This little pinkie decided to make das uber spell
We all know dragons and their eggs have taken over a part of these discussion boards. Now you can get your own with a WeiDU conversion of Dragon Summon from the Sorcerer’s Palace. Warning: Rain armageddon down upon your enemies, or make a very serious case of dragon-in-a-box at your own risk. Cheat here.

And this little pinkie cried wah, wah, wah, because it decided not to try out any of these modifications. That’s not you, is it?

Till next time.

Minor downtime earlier today
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Posted by SConrad in General News

Hi all,

If you tried to access SHS earlier today, you probably recieved a page saying that the bandwidth limit had been reached. I have rectified this problem by raising the limit.

When SHS moved onto its own server, we were using around 300GB of bandwidth per month. As such, I set the bandwidth limit to 1TB, which seemed a reasonable amount for making sure we’d never run out. But ever since then, SHS has continued and continued to grow, and so far this year, we’ve averaged about 850GB per month. A few hours ago, the 1TB limit was exceeded for the first time in SHS history.

Some might say I should’ve been proactive and upped the limit when the bandwidth continued to grow every month, and they’d be right. I apologize for the inconvenience this downtime may have caused, and promise that it won’t happen again.

- Sebastian

IE Modding Digest: Volume XXXVII (Jumbo Edition)
Monday, May 25, 2009

After a fortnight’s hiatus, Modding Digest is back with a stomach full of gut-wrenching modifications for your digestive pleasure. Savour them before they come out the other side…

Konalan’s Tweaks updated twice
With the introduction of Scipio’s Barrel, some bugfixes, some installation updates, and some new additions, there is some thing to be had as Konalan’s Tweaks hits version 2.1. For a full list of changes, go here, and then get it here, before you get tackled by a band of Proteas.

Ho hum ho hum
With a trio of dwarf animation updates by Erephine, you’ll be laughing until your spleen positively explodes at the excessively ribald drunken dwarf jokes at the bar table. Don’t look forward to sleep tonight. Get Female dwarven clerics with plate mail, Female dwarven fighters with plate mail, and Female dwarven thieves and marvel at the remarkable amount of choice you’ve got for this evening’s merrymaking.

Das evilness
Well, if anything, this modification makes things a little less evil. It nerfs Celestial Fury, makes Elven Chainmail available to everyone, and adds some tokenistic NPCs that may or may not have a personality. You have been warned. Get version 0.2 of the Evilness Mod here.

Oh armiger, wherefore art thou
It’s a fighter kit that is highly compatible with Newton’s Third Law, ‘Every action has an equal and opposite reaction’ ...well, that’s if the dice are rigged to give you the same result every time. It’s cool, it’s yuppin’ yarpen’s, and it’s Armiger Mod version 1.0. Have a look at the kit description and get the modification here.

What do you get when you mix a disco with a sewer?
A joke! Ha ha, very funny. That’s why you can make the lighting in the sewers of Baldur’s Gate more pleasurable with Yovaneth’s Replacement Baldur’s Gate sewer lighting for BGTuTu, BGT, and vanilla BG modification. You just show me how lame that was right here.

Nothing spectacular
So he says, but you be the judge of Kenan’s First Blade, a funky Katana +3 with something interesting hidden within the blade. And… it’s translated into German and Croatian. Check it out here and start whipping the air with it. Jawohl!

Cosmetically inclined containers
Miloch’s Unique Containers gives you the opportunity to look at your belts, bags, and other containers with a new eye. Well, not a lnyx eye, but unique icons for each one. Now you can remember where you put that damned angel skin ring to impress your partner when you next elope. Grab it here, and make sure you install it before you put it into a Bag of Holding, otherwise you might just never find it again.

Redo your relationship, one more time
Some small changes make macholy’s Relationships more exciting. Don’t worry, I’ll leave, and close the door behind me. Change your clothes and download here.

We are done, but I’d rather be medium rare. Till next time…

Ghostdog’s PS:T UI Mod hits v2
Sunday, May 24, 2009

Ghostdog’s PS:T UI Mod is a User Interface modification which in combination with the bigg’s Widescreen Mod makes a number of widescreen resolutions much more viable for Planescape: Torment by changing a number of things in the UI.

The Widescreen mod works extremely well in Planescape: Torment, but unfortunately when you change the resolution, almost all of the UI elements and game effects are shown in the top-left area since they were set for the original 640x480 game resolution. What this mod does is center all of these elements and enhance the UI with original game art to fit nicely with various widescreen resolutions, including 1280x800, 1280x768, 1280x720 and now 1280x1024.

The key points of the release are that now the mod has 1280x720 support and that the bigger fonts that are available have been improved. For the rest of the changes, see the changelog.

Fading Promises v2 Released
Sunday, May 17, 2009

berelinde has just updated her quest mod “Fading Promises” to v2, including a Spanish translation, a number of bugfixes and a few typo fixes.

Ever wondered what it was like to be tied to life - forever? Aidan knows.

Help him regain his honor, and you might even help him remember what it was to be human.

Fading Promises introduces Aidan, a fallen paladin of Amaunator, who has a couple problems. One of them is that he’s dead. Another is that he never completed his last quest. You can’t help him with the first, but he would be very grateful for your assistance with the second. Who knows? You might even give him the courage to face the judgment he has so long avoided.
