Classic Adventures v0.47 Released
Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Welcome to the latest version of Classic Adventures! Yes, we are now at version 0.47. New features include a female druid NPC, some revised area maps, and the first draft of the Selgaunt city maps. Plus tons of dialogs, banters, some new items, and updates to several quests.

Selgaunt City:
- This area is not finished by a long shot. All you can do is wander across the maps and see what we are planning. With the exception of area TC3000, the other map areas have no people, walls, sounds, water, doors, etc. Also, the Worldmap looks terrible. Hey, I said it was the first draft.

Terra Lockwood:
- A female druid that can be found outside of Piney Bluff. She has a quest (not completed yet), some banters, and hopefully a great future in CA.

Banters:
- We added many new dialogs and banters for Icar, Fala’stra, Aleigha, and Catharandamus. Also, Cath can give you another quest.

So enjoy! But remember, we aren’t finished.

Team CA.

IE Modding Digest: Volume XVIII
Monday, August 4, 2008

Greetings, all! Last fortnight, I overlooked a few not-to-be-missed releases, and hence they will make it into this week’s digest. So, get those taste buds ready warmed up and sensitised, as this fortnight we have special releases imported from the finest continents of the world. They will tempt your appetite into delectable ecstasy, and launch your sensations into an unimaginable euphoria.

Care for a joke?
Many a joke is thrown in the melee of forum chatter, but not many are actualised into an interactive spoilsport. Icendoan has made this unusual move, creating the BioWARE Forum-Only Items modification. If you wish to discover the mystic properties of the Potion of Everlasting, Boots of Stomping, the Gemjump spell, and even a mystery item, give this little modification a shake, rattle, and roll right here.

Giuseppe! Hand me that snake stew.
You certainly have it handed to you, the Italian translation of the Throne of Bhaal-only modification, The Slithering Menace. Updated to version 3.1, this modification by vilkacis will slither slime all over your attire until you melt like a slug in a random dimension. Well, if cryptic clues hasn’t already thrown you completely off track, be sure to check it out here.

It’s all over for the wizards.
Yes, that’s right. Wizards may soon become extinct thanks to the Wizard Slayer Enhancements modification. Konalan has updated it to version 0.7, instructing the arduous mage-hater in the better use of high-level abilities and sweeping out those bugs that had made a nice home in the kit bag. But beware, you must have Throne of Bhaal for the modification to work correctly. Apart from those caveats, the fate of the wizards is up to you if you dare to taste the power right here.

Power up your kitsch a la français.
Indeed, the French language will make your items improve. That, and all the money you give to that enigmatic wizard named Thalantyr. With the addition of the French language to the Thalantyr Item Upgrade modification, which works for Baldur’s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU only, more adventurers will be able to wield a magic sword. For my own sake, I hope that you can wield a magic sword better than those pesky adventurer-cum-bandits. My head does not please anybody dislocated from my neck. Invest in powerful items here.

Freer free action
If you are one of the PnP faithful, you might find this useful - a free action that does not annul movement bonuses and nullifies all movement penalties. Miloch’s PnP Free Action realises your dreams of haste. Now I just have to get you all to sign up for the marathon. Get to the track and train up right here.

Well, that just about does it for the previous month. Stay tuned for more exciting packages of fun. After all, small things amuse all minds.

BGT v1.06 Released!
Friday, August 1, 2008

Baldur’s Gate Trilogy-WeiDU v1.06 has been released! You can get it from the usual places (list of download mirrors) when it is uploaded to the servers. Check the SHS mirror for first availability. Changes from BGT-WeiDU v1.05b are available at http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=30975.

Besides many bug fixes, big and small, and translation updates, there are a number of major things to note from this update; problems with the Traditioinal Chinese translation have been corrected, the auto-installation requires an extra --skip-at-view command-line parameter for automatic installation. Belt no longer forces you to transition to Shadows of Amn at the conclusion of Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast, and new characters and characters imported directly into Shadows of Amn with no experience are now forced to level up before the game continues. Finally, the positions of Ulgoth’s Beard (take the same exit as the entry into Baldur’s Gate) and the zombie farm (can only be accessed on the west side of Wyrm’s Crossing) have changed.

Please note that with BGT v1.06 the BGT-WeiDU v1.05b patch is no longer required, and saved games from BGT-WeiDU version 1.05b and below are rendered incompatible with this update - you need to start a new game!

Worldmap v7 Released!
Friday, August 1, 2008

Worldmap v7 has been released!

This version of the worldmap includes a larger and more completely labeled worldmap, and gives you the ability to choose from between two different sizes for the painted map. Unlike some previous versions, v7 of the Worldmap mod does not require you to start a new game--it is completely save-game friendly.

On top of these improvements, v7 is also completely BGT and TuTu/easyTuTu compatible thanks to erebusant!

IE Modding Digest: Volume XVII
Monday, July 21, 2008

Well, my friends, a visit from the great priest has stimulated a modest amount of work in the community this fortnight. But don’t fret… quality, not quantity, is the buzz phrase, as we have a look at the papyrus scroll one must use to orient themself, and a kit of anti-magic goodies to spring upon your not-so-friendly arcane acolytes.

World maps, squashed bugs, and tutus
erebusant has scribed a new version of the World Map modification, updating it to version 6.6.3. This version wipes away those tarnishing gastric juices from squashed bugs and adds compatibility with BG1Tutu and EasyTutu, including the saved game converter. An interesting idea, to fold your world map into a tutu. Try it out here.

Beware, wizards! You shall be deader than dead.
The Wizard Slayer kit is criticised by many as impotent. But not any more, thanks to Konalan’s Wizard Slayer Enhancements. This modification buffs the kit to new heights. Now you can cleanse a den of stinking wizards and not fall over on their party tricks! Check out the features and download the mod here.
