Mod Move: SHS Welcomes Fade!
Monday, December 11, 2006

Many of you have probably heard or played Fade, formerly hosted at Chosen of Mystra, and so you’ll know exactly how wonderful this mod is! Fade is a CN Fey’ri (elven tiefling) for Baldur’s Gate II, in the employ by Aran Linvail who is here to help you fight Irenicus… and perhaps even spark a romance with male characters who match up… ;)

So I’d like to welcome Mistress Elysia, Silmarien and Fade to Spellhold Studios, and hope they have a wonderful time here!

Mod information can be found on Fade’s forum - go post, and take a look at this wonderful mod!

BGT-WeiDU 1.02 Released
Friday, November 10, 2006

Baldur’s Gate Trilogy (BGT)-WeiDU is a modification for Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, that allows the player to experience the Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast storyline using the improved functionality of the Baldur’s Gate II engine. Improvements include higher resolution, updated graphics, grouping of journal entries, map notes, and other extended user interface options. The conversion between the Baldur’s Gate I and Baldur’s Gate II engines is made as faithful as possible to preserve the original game. However, using an improved engine, BGT-WeiDU adds a number of new features that provide a more satisfying journey. These include:

- Compatibility with a large number of other modifications made for Baldur’s Gate II, including the mega-modification (Shadows Over Soubar, The Darkest Day, Tortured Souls), as well as modifications made for the parallel projects BG1Tutu and EasyTutu
- Continuity from Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast into Shadows of Amn, presenting a seamless experience into the world of Faerun
- Accessibility to Tales of the Sword Coast without having to finish Baldur’s Gate
- Dynamic journal system to keep track of quests in Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast
- Improvement of the effects of iron shortage by allowing all standard weapons, armor, and shields to shatter
- Introduction of map notes to Baldur’s Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast to assist in marking important locations

Full support is provided here at SHS for installation, usage, and compatibility issues that may arise in the use of BGT-WeiDU. Featured is a working compatibility list that is constantly updated to reflect developments within the Infinity Engine modding community. Modifications that are not yet currently compatible can sometimes be adapted for use if requested.

You can download BGT-WeiDU 1.02 here and view the forum here!

Mod Releases
Wednesday, November 8, 2006

Baldurs Goth is now on BGT, for all those who play BGT and were waiting for a little gothification of their Biowarian NPCs!

Baldur’s Goth enhances the graphical side of Baldur’s Gate. It is an attempt to make the modded and some of the Bioware NPCs more “gothic” and fit in more with the original Baldur’s Goth mod for BGII. This version features edited portraits and paperdolls for all but one of the modded and some of the Bioware NPCs for the BGT expansion of Baldur’s Gate I. Read the thread here!

A clever new minimod by modder GeN1e has just been released - the Store Prices mod! This mod specifically targets those who play with a variety of larger mods installed; by the end of Chapter 6, often you’ve accumulated more than your fair share of coins and are sometimes even carrying around in excess of 600,000 gold coins. This mod seeks to rectify this problem in several ways:

1) Reduce selling values - will make stores to sell items at lower price
2) Raise selling values - will make stores to sell items at higher price
3) Reduce buying values - will make stores to buy items at lower price
4) Raise buying values - will make stores to buy items at higher price

Download it now from the Forum Thread!

Another new mod release by Zyraen of the Pocket Plane Group is Zyraen’s Misc Mods V2, which adds several new components to this already very useful mod - the Auto Sell script, the XP Evener script and Halves To Hit & Damage Bonuses. You can download Zyraen’s Misc Mods here

New Mod: Sword Coast Stratagems (BGT version)!
Monday, November 6, 2006

Firstly, I’d like to each and every person for the wonderful ‘welcome’ I’ve received – the support has been wonderful, and greatly increased my enthusiasm for continuing the development of such a fantastic community like Spellhold Studios.

Secondly, there are is a news announcement which has been sadly delayed due to it taking time for me to gett used to the software, and for that I greatly apologise!

Sword Coast Stratagems, a recently released mod for Tutu on G3 by DavidWallace, has been converted to Baldurs Gate Trilogy by ronin69hof and pro5! Sword Coast Stratagems is a compilation of several additions and fixes to Baldurs Gate, the most important being major AI improvements which make playing the game a totally new experience! Other components include bug fixes and tweaks which will make playing Baldurs Gate Trilogy a more pleasant experience.

I’d like to make extend a big welcome to SCS (BGT)! You can download SCS (BGT) here, and view the forum here. You can take a look at SCS for BG1TuTu over at Gibberlings 3.I will be updating the website as soon as I can, but I’m still working out the various kinks and twists of it, so it may take several days.

- Liam
