SHS Welcomes Innershade
Friday, June 25, 2010

Lava Del’Vortel has released the next mod in his “Colours of Infinity” series, entitled “Innershade”.

“Follow a path between the trees to find a very new village to visit: the village of Innershade. It’s been having some problems lately: some people disappeared, and the attacker was never seen. You must stop the guilty party, if you can. Solving the problem may be not enough; getting rid of the attacker is only one of the ways to handle this. The second is understanding the motives and past that became a great burden. In the end, you may have to become a judge of sorts. In the village, you will also find some minor problems, and even a little affair. Meet Eva, a female blacksmith with a really explosive character. Listen to Li’l Bud’s tales about heroes and villains. If you are a bard, maybe you will learn a new skill from a not-too-kind minstrel. Don’t forget to visit Granny Bunny, a really nice and kind elderly lady, who will tell you some stories from her past. What else can she offer? Hot tea with some jam, homemade biscuits, and a warm smile.”

Yikari v1.7 Released
Monday, June 7, 2010

Yikari is a NPC for BG2 - SoA (ToB required). He is a monk from Kara-Tur and can be found in the Temple District in Athkatla. He is Lawful Neutral, highly wise, but not all that intelligent. He knows he’s a perfectly competent fighter, but doesn’t pick fights with other NPCs. He is used to a chain of command, and will accept the PC’s decisions without much trouble. Yikari tries not to anger anyone, but he’s no walkover. He just is so efficient that he never get into a fight if he doesn’t have to. He often tries teaching NPCs the benefits of self-control, and all the stuff he learnt in his monastery. He is a visitor to the sword coast and many things seem strange to him. He cannot help regarding everyone (except Yoshimo) as foreigners.

The changes in v1.7 are:
# Made Kuroisan interjection also compatible with The Big Picture
# Changed the way Yikari is spawned to improve compatibility with other mods

aTweaks v3.1
Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Introduction

This mod represents a compilation of PnP related tweaks and various house rules which are designed to bring more consistency to the gameplay. It works on normal Baldur’s Gate II games as well as either of the two Baldur’s Gate conversion projects: (Easy)Tutu and Baldur’s Gate Trilogy (BGT). In summary, aTweaks can bring several classes, races, spells, items and creatures closer to their PnP counterparts, add more consistency to the gameplay by making sensible rule adjustments and eliminating exploits, and make it easier to distinguish between creatures with similar avatars through the use of recoloring techniques. The mod is divided into multiple components all of which can be installed separately and are completely independent of each other. More detailed descriptions of all components can be found in the readme.

New in aTweaks v3.1:

aTweaks has been updated to v3.1. In summary, this minor release makes some adjustments to the existing content and adds a new component which revises the Bhaalpowers that the Protagonist receives in BG1 (or at the start of BG2) due to his divine heritage. The general goal was to retain the basic roles which the Bhaalpowers had in the original game while simultaneously making them scale a bit better with the Protagonist’s level. More details on the revised Bhaalpowers are available in the aTweaks forum.

Note on future updates

This will be the last update of aTweaks by aVENGER since he is retiring from the IE modding scene. Wisp has been appointed as the new maintainer of aTweaks and Rogue Rebalancing and he will handle all subsequent updates and future development of both mods.
