Classic Adventures 0.42 released!
Saturday, September 8, 2007

Version 0.42 has now been released, and is possibly one of Classic Adventures’ biggest updates, now including the infamous B3 module “Palace of the Silver Princess”! You can find out more information about the module itself on Wikipedia.

The CA team would like to thank Sanjana Baijnath (http://www.sanjanasart.com/) for all her help creating many new area maps with leahnkain.

Additions in version 0.42:

  • PnP module B3 - The Palace of the Silver Princess (A completely new adventure for 1st level characters!)
  • Newly drawn maps of Oakhurst and Saltmarsh
  • 4 New NPCs - Aleigha, Catharandamus, Candella and Chaarna, each with their own stories and lives!

Many fixes have also been applied to this update, including:
  • Rivian’s dialogs and banters
  • Added mirror into map of Mistmoor manor’s bedroom areas (should make getting into the Vault easier)
  • Additions to Worldmap, Oakhurst is now the starting point on the map (main reason for starting a new game)
  • New kits for Vildamyr and Blush
  • Many minor bug fixes as requested on the forum

You can download 0.42 here (574.69mb), and check out the forum here.

Remember, Classic Adventures is a Total Conversion with no affiliations to the BG storyline - you start at 1st level. The CA team hopes you enjoy this latest installment!

Classic Adventures Patch 0.41a Released
Saturday, July 28, 2007

Classic Adventures will be a compilation of many of the old and some new classic PnP (Pen and Paper) modules. I fully plan to include series like A, D, G, S, and U into this story. There are several newer mods that will also be included into this project just for some variety.

Classic Adventures starts with “The Sunless Citadel” which is a current mod for the d20 System. You will start the game as a level 1 player and work your way through a fortress that years ago was magically pushed into a giant ravine with the hopes of destroying it’s evil occupants. You are tasked with creating a party to go down into the ravine and try to purchase a special magical item from a clan of goblins.

The next mod is the start of the classic U series, U1 - The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. This continues with the next two mods in that series, U2 - Danger at Dunwater and U3 - The Final Enemy. For now, the game finishes with a Dragon magazine mod called The Ghost of Mistmoor.

It continues from there into several different series, currently culminating in A1 - part one of the Slavers series.

Classic Adventures Patch 0.41a includes many fixes, Althon’s new soundset, and Rivian’s fixed soundset. You need to install it over Classic Adventures 0.41, as this is a patch, and does not include the whole mod.

You can download Classic Adventures Patch 0.41a here, check out the discussion forum here and visit the website here!

Rogue Rebalancing 3.7 Released
Friday, July 27, 2007

The Rogue Rebalancing mod is a gameplay modification for Baldur’s Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal. This mod strives to bring the Rogue classes (Bards and Thieves) and their respective kits closer to their Pen and Paper 2E AD&D incarnations. The mod is divided into multiple components all of which can be installed separately and are completely independent of each other. In so far, Rogue Rebalancing can restore proper dual-wielding skills to Bards and Thieves, revise some of the Bard and Thief kits and their respective high level abilities, add more items useful for Rogues to the game, slightly revise the merchant treatment of stolen goods, enhance the Shadow Thief opponents which the player faces when siding with Bodhi in chapter 2, and introduce a new challenging encounter with a party of Cyric’s followers in chapter six. Some of the introduced changes will be applied immediately, but for best results you should start a new game after installing this mod. More detailed descriptions of all mod components can be found in the documentation section of the Rogue Rebalancing website.

New in v3.7:

The Rogue Rebalancing mod has been updated to v3.7. In summary, this revision adds a new component which slightly revises the merchant treatment of stolen goods, further improves compatibility with (Easy)TuTu and BGT, allows single-classed thieves to side with Bodhi and brings several mod components even closer to PnP AD&D. The full list of changes and additions is available here. As always, it is recommended to completely uninstall any old versions of this mod before installing the latest revision.

Check out Rogue Rebalancing’s forum, and Documentation.

You can download it here. :)
