Aurora’s Shoes and Boots Released
Thursday, September 3, 2009

After some hard work on Miloch’s part, Aurora’s Shoes and Boots has been released. Packed with much more content than originally envisioned, Aurora’s Shoes and Boots is definitely a mod worth checking out!

Have you ever wished that Athkatla were a little livelier? Ever wanted to know just what Lord and Lady Ophal got up to in their spare time? Wished that the shopkeepers had more than two lines apiece? Had lives of their own?

Ever wished you could buy some Boots of Speed looked a bit more, well, dashing? Thought about buying Imoen some pink boots of stealth? Wanted to use the Stinking Cloud that must form around your travelers for some truly *useful* purpose?

Waste no more time on wishing!

Now that Aurora is here, you can have all these things and more!

Aurora’s Shoe Shop introduces more than a dozen new pairs of boots that are both useful and stylish. In addition, Aurora herself is there to add a bit of spice to Athkatlan life. She’ll chat with you about nobles and commoners alike, providing exciting (if not always accurate) information about their daily lives.

Aurora’s Shoes and Boots also adds Tomthal and Karaea, Aurora’s assistants, and a number of items that can be found randomly throughout the game, among other things!

Posted by K'aeloree in General News

After almost 2 years of hard work as a Staff member, legendary BGT modder Ascenion64 has decided to step down. As well as being a general moderator, Ascension64 ran the very successful IE Modding Digests, which are sadly now being retired. A huge thank you to him for spending the time every 2 weeks to put those together!

Thanks for your dedication, hard work and all-around awesomeness, Asc, and all the best!

IE Modding Digest: Volume XLII
Monday, August 3, 2009

Downloads speak louder than words. So let’s save those words and get straight to the downloads.

Beeping AI
Firstly, the AI mod for the olden days has been remade by horred the plague. Get beeping with BPSeries Remake for Baldur’s Gate II, try out the revamped AI, and post your comments for the beta on the Big Picture forums. Oh yeah, I forgot you had to download it first.

A murder mystery for you
A minotaur and three bodies. What’s the catch? There wasn’t one until Yovaneth decided to add a little dialogue to the Lilarcor quest in Baldur’s Gate II. The Minotaur and Lilarcor will leave you wanting more, but while you check out the information here, make sure you get the updated version of the modification here.

You can see a rainbow, I can see in 256-colour
Want more variegated colour schemes to beautify your characters? You now can with Erephine’s amazing work with the One Pixel Productions Extended Palette Entries modification and the Palette Generator utility. Extended palettes enables new colour gradients in Infinity Engine games, while Palette Generator makes working with colour gradients as easy as skinning a cat… well, maybe that isn’t so easy. But ease-of-use is only a few clicks away, starting here.

Digest will be taking another break next fortnight to visit the cold, but I can guarantee I’ll bring back some snow.

SHS welcomes Tales of the Deep Gardens quest mod!
Monday, August 3, 2009
Posted by K'aeloree in General News

A warm welcome to Lava Del’Vortel and his quest mod “Tales of the Deep Gardens”, an intriguing and mysterious addition to Baldur’s Gate II!

“The last thing you remember is a mage on the streets of Athkatla, the building of the Council of Six, the trees and mansions of the Goverment District. Now you feel only humid air and cold ground… You try to open your eyes, but you are not sure if your senses are to be believed. You are barely able to recognise shapes around you… Crooked trees, bantam buildings, colourful mists… Your head aches. It is impossible for you to focus… Suddenly, you realise something. You hear voices and footsteps… You are not alone in this unknown place.”

Tales of the Deep Gardens allows players to travel through a new land, deep under Faerun; a realm of mystery, dream, Colourful Essences and riddles. Talk to people who may not even see you, try to find the answers to obscure riddles, fight with Living Colours and gather 10 Colours to leave the Gardens. But remember, Dreamer, that this place is something more than just a chain of caves… It may be a Dream you’ll not want to wake up from…
