The overhaul has been completed, and a little ahead of schedule, at that! A big, big thank you to SConrad and the SHS Staff and for their help!

A number of changes have been made to the structure of the forums, with the Deviant’s Cell being completely reshuffled and moved to the bottom of the forum. We also have a number of new forums, including the new Mass Effect gameplay forum and the RPGWatch Newsfeed. With the addition of the Mass Effect gameplay forum we have also made a new section in our Download Manager for Mass Effect PC mods, which you can check out here!

A number of changes to the Staff have also taken place. We bid a fond farewell to Ilmatar, Azkyroth, Sir Kalthorine, Spike4072 and Karandras. A huge thank you to them for their contributions--and hopefully we’ll see a return from some of them!

Finally I’d like to welcome Amaurea, Cal Jones, Choo Choo, leahnkain, Orthodoxia, Rianess and Scipio to the Staff. I’m sure they’ll all do fantastic jobs, and the rest of the Staff and I look forward to working with them to make SHS a better place!

Here we are again. Welcome back to all those who had been reading previous issues. A few things of interest coming about.


Casavir Romance Expansion
Berelinde, author of such interesting mods as Gavin, Haldamir, and Homeward Bound for the BG series, turns her eyes to NWN2, with the Casavir Romance Expansion in development now. In her own words: “Neverwinter Nights 2 has romances… sort of. Female Shard-Bearers may romance Casavir, a paladin of Tyr, however the existing romance doesn’t offer much. This modification aims to fix that.” definitely something to keep the eye on.

Storm of Zehir
The latest expansion pack for the NWN series, Storm of Zehir offers some new things, while changing some of the old. With new lands, a new story, and a new way of handling companions, Storm of Zehir has already developed quite a stir of controversy between those who wish only for powerful characters, and those desiring some deep interactive characterization. Busy as ever, our PS:T guru Qwinn has just made a round of updates to his Planescape: Torment mods!

The major changes from the first versions are English, Spanish and German translations (with Italian on the way), and the Fixpack has 36 new fixes.

The Planescape: Torment Fixpack is a comprehensive WeiDU Fixpack for Black Isle’s classic Planescape: Torment CRPG. Fixing literally hundreds of bugs and thousands of typos, thereby restoring a lot of lost and inactive content, the PS:T Fixpack (along with PS:T Unfinished Business and Qwinn’s PS:T Tweak Pack) provides a completely new Planescape: Torment experience! Qwinn’s Planescape: Torment Tweaks adds a few ease-of-use tweaks to your Planescape: Torment install, as well as one or two must-have components! Including a banter accelerator, ease-of-use tweaks and several content changes, this is an extremely useful mod for any player. Before downloading the new version of the fixpack, read the updating instructions! They’re very important. If you don’t follow them it’s quite possible your game may get fubared!

A short and sweet update on previously announced modifications this fortnight. The Thalantyr Item Upgrade modification has been updated to version 3 with the addition of the Castilian translation.
